NOMINATIONS FOR THE 8TH NATIONAL VIDEO GAMES INDUSTRY PRIZES ANNOUNCED

Mind: Path to Talamus, Bubble Witch Saga 2 and Missing Translation are favourites

The nominées for the 8th National Video Games Industry Prizes, granted by the Spanish Academy of Interactive Arts & Science in collaboration with Gamelab, has just been announced. This prizes are the biggest recognition for the best works developed by the Spanish video game industry. Academy members will choose among the finalists the winners of the famous Bugaboo, the statue inspired by the first Spanish video game ever developed. The prizes will be presented during a Gala that will be held on June 25th during Gamelab 2015 (June 24th-26th).

The games with the most nominations, favourites for becoming the most awarded of the night, are Mind: Path to Talamus, by Mind Dev Team, with six nominations; Bubble Witch Saga 2, by King, with four; and Missing Translation, by Alpixel Games, also with four. This three games are candidates for the Game of The Year award along with Ziggurat, by Milkstone Studois, with other three nominations.

Gamelab and the Spanish Academy of Interactive Arts & Science, in collaboration with Autodesk, will acknowledge too the best game developed by college students. The finalists for this award are Sweet Sins  (Universidad Rey Juan Carlos), RatVolution (Universidad Politécnica de Catalunya), Slam Junk and Last Breath (ambos de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra).

There are more categories: those who award the best games by platform (mobile, PC, browser and consoles) and those who award the Best Art, Game Design, Music / Sound and Technology, as well as the Best Debut. 25 different games compete in a total number of 11 categories. Furthermore Gamelab, in collaboration with Microsoft, will present an award for the Best Indie Game.

Gamelab (Barcelona, June 24th-26th) is supported by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, the Generalitat of Catalunya and the City Council of Barcelona. Gamelab counts on the help from the Spanish Academy of Interactive Science and Arts, Microsoft, Enti, Bitoon, Autodesk and Native Prime. Official media: Gamesindustry.biz, Gamerector, IGDA.
